Best Corporate Virtual CFO Services in Asia (2026): 7 Firms Checked
Of seven firms commonly shortlisted for corporate virtual CFO services in Asia, four name the service on their own websites: Dezan Shira & Associates (four published scope tiers; China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore), Acclime (20 markets, 29 offices), CFO Bridge (40+ CFOs, India) and SRGA Global (150+ professionals; India, UAE and US). TMF Group, Vistra and BoardRoom list accounting, tax compliance and governance services but no virtual CFO product for Asia. None of the seven publishes CFO fees. Dezan Shira is rebranding to Ascentium, so check which entity signs the engagement.

The corporate virtual CFO services in Asia that we could confirm on each firm's own website are Dezan Shira & Associates (four published package tiers, with vCFO work named in China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore), Acclime (an "outsourced virtual CFO" line across a 20-market network), CFO Bridge (40+ CFOs, India only within Asia) and SRGA Global (150+ professionals, India plus the UAE and the US). Three other names that turn up on most shortlists, TMF Group, Vistra and BoardRoom, do not list a virtual CFO product for Asia on their group service pages. They sell the accounting, tax compliance and governance work that sits underneath a CFO, which is a different purchase.
That split matters more than any ranking. A "corporate" virtual CFO, as opposed to a startup one, is a fractional or interim finance lead for a company that already has entities, a parent to report to and usually an auditor. The job is to keep each local set of books in line with group reporting, own the cash forecast, and coordinate tax and transfer pricing across borders. If you hire a compliance administrator and expect that, you will get clean filings and nobody chairing the month-end call.
None of the seven firms publishes a fee for CFO work. Dezan Shira comes closest by publishing what each tier includes.
Key takeaways
- Four of the seven firms name a virtual or outsourced CFO service that reaches Asia on their own sites: Dezan Shira & Associates, Acclime, CFO Bridge and SRGA Global.
- Dezan Shira is the only one with a published package grid (Starter, Moving Up, Enterprise, Large Enterprise). The grid shows scope, not prices.
- CFO Bridge and SRGA Global are India-centred. Neither lists an office in Southeast Asia, China or Japan.
- TMF Group (16 Asia Pacific countries and territories), Vistra (200,000+ entities under administration) and BoardRoom (14 offices) are compliance and governance providers. Shortlist them for the accounting layer, and ask in writing whether a named finance lead comes with it.
- Dezan Shira & Associates is rebranding to Ascentium. Contracts signed this year may carry either name.
- A firm that audits your subsidiary should not also be making its management decisions. Ask about independence before you bundle.

What a corporate virtual CFO does in Asia
The label gets stretched, so here is the definition this article uses. A corporate virtual CFO is a senior finance person, usually backed by a team, who takes responsibility for outcomes rather than transactions. Bookkeeping, payroll runs and statutory filings are inputs. The CFO work is what happens with them.
In a multi-country Asian group that normally means five things. Local books kept under each country's standards get mapped to the group's IFRS or US GAAP reporting pack. Intercompany pricing is set and documented so that the transfer pricing file matches what the ledgers show. Cash and currency exposure are forecast across entities, which is not trivial in a region where Singapore alone handled US$1.485 trillion in average daily FX volume in April 2025. Someone coordinates the statutory auditors in each country. And the board gets one view of the numbers.
US parents carry an extra layer. A US company that owns a foreign subsidiary generally has to file Form 5471, the information return for US persons with respect to certain foreign corporations, and the data for it comes from the subsidiary's books. If nobody on the Asian side owns that handoff, the US tax preparer ends up chasing it in March. We have written separately about why cross-border tax compliance costs climb fastest for groups with no single finance owner.
How we evaluated
We started from the seven firms a client draft proposed and checked each against its own website, not against directories or other listicles. Four questions decided where a firm landed.
First, does the firm name a virtual, outsourced, fractional or interim CFO service on a service page (a blog post did not count)? Second, in which Asian countries does it say that service is delivered? Third, what does it publish about scope and price? Fourth, what does it say about its own size, and is that number on a page we could fetch today?
Firms that passed the first question are ranked 1 to 4 by how much of Asia the CFO service demonstrably covers and how much scope detail is public. Firms that failed it are listed afterwards as adjacent providers, unranked against the first four, because comparing a CFO service with a compliance contract is not a fair fight in either direction.
We did not interview clients, request proposals or test a month-end close with any of them. The Limitations section says what that leaves open.
Firms that sell a named virtual CFO service
1. Dezan Shira & Associates (rebranding to Ascentium)
Dezan Shira has the only page in this group built specifically around the phrase, its Corporate Virtual CFO Service. The firm was founded in 1992 and describes itself as working from more than 40 offices: 27 of its own across China (including Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Vietnam and Dubai, and 13 "Asian Alliance" partner offices in markets such as Japan, Thailand, the Philippines and South Korea.
What sets the page apart is the package grid. Four tiers are tied to annual revenue:
| Tier | Revenue band on the page | Bookkeeping | Payroll | Virtual meetings | CFO items included as standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Under ¥1m | Up to 20 transactions | Up to 5 employees | Extra cost | Tax planning, audit coordination, cash flow forecasting |
| Moving Up | Up to ¥5m | Up to 50 transactions | Up to 15 employees | Once monthly | Adds budget development and tracking |
| Enterprise | Over ¥5m | Up to 100 transactions | Up to 30 employees | Twice monthly | Adds transfer pricing advisory, internal control structuring, twice-yearly financial review meetings |
| Large Enterprise | Custom | Included | Unlimited | Once weekly | Adds quarterly reviews and supervision of an in-house finance team |
A few cautions about reading it. The page shows a ¥ symbol without saying whether that is renminbi or yen; given the firm's China roots renminbi is the likely reading, but confirm it. Transfer pricing advisory and internal control work are marked "available at additional cost" in the two lower tiers. And the grid has no prices at all, so "published tiers" means published scope.
The FAQ on the same page says the vCFO team manages reporting and filings "in countries such as China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore", backed by in-house tax, legal, HR, payroll and IT staff.
What to consider:
- The firm is rebranding to Ascentium as part of Ascentium Group, which it puts at over 2,900 professionals across 58 cities in 27 markets. The rollout is "progressive", so you may see both names on paperwork for a while. Ask which legal entity signs your engagement letter.
- Thirteen of the 40+ offices are alliance partners, not Dezan Shira staff. In Japan, Thailand or the Philippines, ask who actually does the work.
- The lower tiers cap transactions at 20 and 50, presumably per month (the page does not say). An operating subsidiary will outgrow that quickly.
Best fit: foreign-invested subsidiaries in China, Vietnam, India, Indonesia or Singapore that want accounting, payroll and CFO oversight in one scoped package.
2. Acclime
Acclime lists "Outsourced virtual CFO" as the first item under its transaction advisory services, next to due diligence, valuation and pre-IPO work. The group was founded in 2019 and now reports 20 markets, 29 offices, 2,000+ employees and 22,000+ clients. Its country list runs from Singapore, Hong Kong and China to Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, which is the part of the map where larger networks tend to be thin.
The detail lives on country sites. Acclime Singapore's virtual CFO page says packages are "flexible and are based on your budget and needs", that the virtual CFO "will assume full responsibility for both forecasting and managing the cash flow", and that contracts can be long-term or short-term, including interim cover during a transition. Acclime Vietnam lists Virtual CFO in its advisory menu without a comparable description.
The firm has been buying capability quickly. It acquired Crowe Singapore in October 2025, which brought an audit and assurance practice, and in August 2026 Acclime India acquired three firms (BMC SAAS, VSPV & Co. and NDCo) to launch a finance and accounting outsourcing line.
What to consider:
- On the group site the CFO service is one bullet under transaction advisory. Outside Singapore we could not find a full description, so depth probably varies by country.
- No package structure or price is published anywhere we looked.
- Several acquisitions in twelve months means teams are still being integrated. Ask how long your proposed lead has been with the firm.
- With an audit practice now in the group, the independence question in the section below applies.
Best fit: groups entering or tidying up entities in Southeast Asia that want CFO cover alongside in-country formation, secretarial and accounting teams.
3. CFO Bridge
CFO Bridge is the specialist here. It does CFO work and little else. Founder V Srinivasan started it in 2012, and the about page now counts 40+ CFOs, 65+ finance professionals and 550+ clients served since launch. It sells two distinct things: a virtual CFO service on monthly retainer covering MIS, cash flow, investor reporting, internal controls and compliance, and an interim CFO service for vacancies, acquisitions and one-off projects such as ERP rollouts.
Its geography is India. The site has city pages for Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR and Kolkata. A UAE arm launched in 2021 and a US entity followed in 2023, but there is nothing in Singapore, Hong Kong or the rest of Asia.
What to consider:
- This is an India provider. For a group with entities in three Asian countries it solves one of them.
- The pitch is aimed at startups and SMEs. The enquiry form's top revenue band is "more than 100 Cr" (roughly US$12 million), which tells you where the centre of its client base sits.
- It is not an audit, payroll or corporate secretarial firm, so you still need those providers. Some buyers will see that as a plus, since there is no independence conflict to manage.
- Retainer fees are not published.
Best fit: an Indian subsidiary or Indian mid-size company that needs a named senior finance person, on retainer or as a stopgap, without buying a bundle.
4. SRGA Global
SRGA Global is a cross-border advisory firm working in India, the UAE and the US. Its CFO and accounting support page lists services country by country. India gets the longest list: bookkeeping, MIS reporting, virtual CFO services, outsourced CFO, financial modelling, fundraising support, audit preparation and consolidation of subsidiary accounts. The US list covers outsourced CFO, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and GAAP-compliant bookkeeping. The UAE list adds finance controller and compliance officer roles and WPS payroll reporting support.
The homepage puts the firm at 30+ years, 150+ professionals, 400+ corporate clients and startups, and 620+ valuations and due diligence assignments. Transfer pricing documentation and litigation support, tax advisory, entity setup and payroll are separate practices inside the same firm, which is the practical argument for it: an India subsidiary's intercompany pricing, books and US reporting inputs can be handled by people who share a building.
It ranks fourth on this list for a plain reason. The query is Asia, and SRGA's Asian coverage is India. The UAE is West Asia on a map, but nobody shopping for an "Asia" CFO means Dubai.
What to consider:
- No offices are listed in Southeast Asia, China, Japan or Korea. SRGA publishes guides on topics such as Singapore subsidiaries, but its contact page offers India, USA and UAE only.
- There is no pricing, no package grid and no CFO-specific headcount on the site. The 150+ figure is the whole firm.
- We found no CFO case studies with named clients on the service pages.
- SRGA also offers audit and assurance. If it audits an entity, ask how CFO work for that same entity is ring-fenced.
Best fit: a US or UAE parent with an Indian subsidiary (or the reverse) that wants CFO oversight, transfer pricing and entity work from one firm. For companies still choosing a jurisdiction, our guide to entity formation and compliance services covers that earlier decision.
Adjacent providers that do not list a virtual CFO service for Asia
These three are large, real and often the right answer for the layer below the CFO. They are here because buyers keep putting them on CFO shortlists.
TMF Group
TMF Group reports 13,000 colleagues in 125+ offices across 87 jurisdictions, and its locations page lists 16 Asia Pacific countries and territories, among them Kazakhstan, Labuan and Taiwan. Its accounting and tax services fall into transactional work (bookkeeping, corporate reporting, payments), statutory and tax compliance (statutory reporting, GAAP conversion, transfer pricing, Pillar II) and consultancy (finance transformation, technical tax, system localisation). The word CFO does not appear in that menu.
There is one wrinkle. In December 2025 TMF acquired JSS Pro, a Hyderabad firm whose own description in the press release includes "comprehensive Virtual CFO services". Whether that survives as a TMF India offering is something we could not confirm from TMF's India page.
What to consider: you get one contract and a consistent process across many countries, which is worth a lot when the alternative is twelve local bookkeepers. You do not, on the evidence of the site, get a person who owns your forecast. Payroll is a core TMF line, and anyone consolidating it should read up on international payroll compliance mistakes first.
Vistra
Vistra states 9,000+ experts in more than 50 markets, 200,000+ entities under administration and US$1 trillion in assets under administration, with "over 50 offices from mainland China, India, to Australia". It is a corporate and fund services group. The closest thing to CFO work we found is its management accounting service, offered "either as part of a fuller local accounting solution or by leveraging your own accounting processes and records". Its Australia page mentions "CFO-level support" inside tax and accounting. We found no equivalent wording for an Asian country.
What to consider: strong where the structure is the hard part (funds, SPVs, holding companies in several financial centres). If you need someone to run budgeting and board reporting for an operating business, ask Vistra directly whether that is in scope in your countries, and get the answer in the proposal.
BoardRoom
BoardRoom is a Singapore-based corporate services provider with, in its own words, over 50 years of history, 14 offices across 6 regions and more than 7,300 clients. Offices are in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Australia and Vietnam. Its accounting services include statutory reporting, management reporting, group accounts consolidation, XBRL filing and cash management, and it runs share registry and corporate secretarial work for listed companies. Its Singapore business also says it collaborates with Andersen Global in Singapore, Malaysia, China and Hong Kong.
What to consider: no virtual or outsourced CFO service is named on the site. Management reporting and consolidation are real CFO inputs, and for a listed or pre-IPO company with heavy board and shareholder administration BoardRoom covers a lot. Treat it as the back office to a CFO you hire elsewhere, unless BoardRoom tells you otherwise in writing.
Audit independence when one firm does both
Several firms on this list (Dezan Shira, Acclime since the Crowe Singapore deal, SRGA Global) offer audit as well as CFO support. Bundling is convenient. It also runs into a rule that applies almost everywhere in Asia in some form: an auditor may not audit its own work or act as the client's management. The IESBA International Code of Ethics, which its standard-setter says is adopted, used or referenced in more than 130 jurisdictions, includes independence standards on exactly this.
In practice the workable arrangements are narrow. One firm can run CFO support for the parent and audit an unrelated entity, or do CFO work with a different firm signing the audit. A firm that proposes to do both for the same entity should be able to explain, specifically, how. We went through the mechanics in more detail in our piece on audit firms that combine CFO services with compliance, which looks at US and UK firms where the same tension shows up.
How to choose
Start with a list of your entities by country, then cross out every provider that has no staff of its own in a country where you have real activity. That step alone usually cuts a shortlist of seven to two or three. For India only, CFO Bridge and SRGA Global are both credible and differ mainly in whether you want a CFO specialist or a multi-practice firm. For China plus Southeast Asia, it is Dezan Shira or Acclime. For ten countries and a compliance problem more than a leadership problem, TMF or Vistra, with a CFO sourced separately.
Then ask each remaining firm three things.
Who is the named person, and how many other clients do they carry? A virtual CFO spread across fifteen companies is a reviewer, not a leader.
What does a month-end pack look like? Ask for a redacted sample in a group reporting format. Firms that do this work have one.
What is excluded? In Dezan Shira's grid, transfer pricing is extra below the Enterprise tier. Every provider has an equivalent line somewhere, and it is cheaper to find it before signing.
A reasonable way to de-risk the decision is to hand over one entity for one quarter and compare the close against what you had before.
Limitations
This comparison rests on what each firm publishes about itself. We did not speak to clients, obtain proposals or verify headcounts, office counts or client numbers independently. Those figures are marketing claims and are labelled as the firms' own throughout.
No firm publishes CFO fees, so there is no price comparison here and we have not estimated one. Any monthly figure you see quoted elsewhere for these firms did not come from their websites.
"Does not list a virtual CFO service" means we did not find one on the group service pages or the country pages we checked. TMF Group, Vistra and BoardRoom each have dozens of country sites, and a local office may offer CFO-style work under another name. The TMF and JSS Pro point in particular is unresolved.
We could not confirm from Dezan Shira's page which currency its revenue bands use, or whether the transaction caps are monthly. Acclime's CFO offering outside Singapore is listed but not described. Dezan Shira's rebrand to Ascentium is in progress, and names, URLs and contracting entities may change after this article's review date.
The independence section describes a general principle. The rules that bind a specific engagement depend on the country, on whether the entity is listed, and on the local regulator.
Frequently asked questions
What is a corporate virtual CFO?
A corporate virtual CFO is a senior finance professional, usually supported by a team, who provides CFO-level oversight to an established company on a part-time, retainer or interim basis. The work covers budgeting, cash forecasting, group reporting and coordination of tax and audit, as opposed to the bookkeeping and filings underneath. Dezan Shira's page describes the role as overseeing "budgeting, tax, cash flow, reporting, and special projects".
Which firms offer virtual CFO services in Asia?
Of the seven checked here, Dezan Shira & Associates, Acclime, CFO Bridge and SRGA Global name a virtual or outsourced CFO service on their own sites. Dezan Shira names China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore. Acclime describes the service in Singapore and lists it in Vietnam. CFO Bridge and SRGA Global cover India. TMF Group, Vistra and BoardRoom list accounting and compliance services without a CFO product for Asia.
How much does a virtual CFO cost in Asia?
None of these seven firms publishes a price for CFO work. Dezan Shira publishes four tiers by scope, and Acclime Singapore says packages are based on "budget and needs". Expect a quote that depends on the number of entities, transaction volume and how often the CFO meets you. We have not included estimates because we could not source any to a provider's own page.
What is the difference between a virtual CFO and outsourced accounting?
Outsourced accounting produces the books, payroll and filings. A virtual CFO decides what to do with them: sets the budget, owns the cash forecast, answers the auditor and reports to the board. Many providers sell both, and some (TMF Group, Vistra, BoardRoom) appear to sell mainly the first. The test is whether a named senior person is accountable for outcomes.
Can a virtual CFO also be a director of my Asian subsidiary?
Sometimes, but treat it as a separate decision. Many jurisdictions require a locally resident director. In Singapore, for example, ACRA's guidance lists being ordinarily resident among the eligibility requirements for company directors, and in practice every Singapore company needs at least one who is. Providers often supply nominee directors through a different service line from CFO work, with different liability terms. Do not assume one engagement covers both.
Is Dezan Shira & Associates still operating under that name?
Yes, for now. Its website carries a banner saying it "will be rebranding to Ascentium" and describes itself as part of Ascentium Group. The firm says the change will roll out progressively, existing engagements continue, and both brands may appear during the transition.
Can the same firm be my auditor and my virtual CFO?
Not for the same entity in any meaningful sense. Independence rules based on the IESBA Code bar an auditor from taking on management responsibilities for an audit client. A firm with both practices can usually serve different entities in your group in different capacities, but ask for the safeguards in writing before you bundle.
Conclusion
Four of these seven firms sell what the search term describes, and they cover different parts of the region. Dezan Shira (soon Ascentium) has the most documented offering for China, India and Southeast Asia. Acclime reaches the smaller ASEAN markets. CFO Bridge and SRGA Global are India choices with different shapes. The other three are worth a call for compliance and governance, as long as you ask the CFO question out loud. Whoever you pick, a real month-end close will tell you more than their proposal.
